The US Macroeconomic Calendar for the Week of Feb-10.
For the upcoming week of Feb-10 on Monday, the Consumer Inflation Expectations report will be released. This will likely just reflect the results from Friday’s University of Michigan report on consumer sentiment which showed inflation expectations for the year 2025 soared to 4.3%, the highest since November 2023, up from 3.3% last month.
This is likely already priced in by the market.
During the premarket session on Wednesday, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the Core Inflation Rate for January. Current consensus forecasts are mixed but the market is likely to be anxious awaiting the Trump Administration’s decisions on reciprocal tariffs and the resolution of discussions with China expected Tuesday this any surprise in this report will likely move the market more than the headline numbers themselves would warrant.
Consumer attitudes still fall on partisan lines but what is curious is Republicans (red) consider their personal economic conditions have improved but still see the overall economic conditions unfavorably.
