Trump must follow Michael Burry’s twitter account because he commented today that, "those poor bastards. I never liked short guys because they're betting against the country."
There is an impressive amount of irony there and it is very likely Trump doesn’t realize that traders who are “short” the market are not necessarily “short” of stature.
Though, Burry is both.
Reality is that Trump can’t do much. If bid pressure is falling (i.e. dumb money is not being as dumb) it’ll be over pretty soon.
The AI narrative is waning. Tokenomics doens’t work. Data centers aren’t as needed as people initially thought. Open source models are doing better. 99% of businesses can not/will not be able to afford the costs LLM companies need to break even.
But, I can’t predict what dumb money is going to do. No one can. A company just released a new baseball card holder that is like a bedazzled purse but for young men and cost $499.00.
To me that is a sign of an financial apocalypse oncoming but… (more on stupid purchases in a second.)
There is a lot of rumblings under the housing market in Florida right now. A lot of mortgages are underwater. It’s almost unfair from a linguistic pun perspective.
The Florida housing market is about to Wile E. Coyote here if there is any sort of market draw-down.
Saudia Arabia cut prices on mocha latte crude. The flavor Southeast Asia buys and OPEC increased production across the board.
FIFA overturned a red card against the USA’s Folarin Balogun. It’s almost like all the megalomaniacal narcissists are colluding to remain in power of their little fiefdoms???
There was a really good book was written on this topic called 'The Dictator's Handbook'. This video sums it all up nicely and makes good background noise.
I did not see anything particularly interesting today. Just waiting out a few trials and hoping to generate free capital from at least one of them.
For now I am just riding wherever the market goes until we have more certainty as to just how bad inflation really is. I will still play volatility if my entry conditions trip. CPI is the 14th.
Considering, Argentina vs Egypt tickets cost $5000 each after fees I think inflation is likely still pretty high.

PS. If you have gotten this far I am running an experiment with the new image.
